About this organization
Every day, Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers are in your community, working to prevent and alleviate human suffering. We provide food, shelter and comfort to people in need, as well as casework, guidance and other recovery assistance for disaster survivors, including home fires, across Georgetown County.
Mission: The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

- The American Red Cross serves individuals and families of all ages, backgrounds, and income levels affected by disasters and emergencies. While services are available to anyone in need, outreach and assistance efforts prioritize vulnerable populations, including low-income households, older adults, people with disabilities, rural and underserved communities, children, and families facing barriers to preparedness and recovery. Through preparedness education, disaster response, recovery support, blood services, and services to the armed forces, the Red Cross works to reduce suffering and build more resilient communities
